The Suburban is being used to raise funds for a scholarship fund for North Carolina students, in Watts' name. The opening race was about as good as it gets, the two drivers leavinga s one and side-by-side all the way down the track. Cox led the first half, Litton the second half. Saturday Finals: (W) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster) (L) Spencer Massey (Bexar Waste Dragster) 9:16 p.m. Masswey was off the line first, but Litton made up the difference and led by the 60-foot marker, then started pulling away. Massey's header flames went out around the 1,000-foot marker, but the race was over by then. Bruce Litton's incremental margins: 60ft(0.013), 330 ft(0.022), 660ft(0.024), 1,000ft(0.037). SUNDAY, May 2nd, 2010 Sunday Semi-Finals: (W) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster) (L) Del Cox Jr. (RG Industries Dragster) This was a close drag race under tough conditions - it's 86 degrees and humid, the track is 125 degrees. Cox got a nice holeshot and made a good run, but Litton ran him down in the final part of the track. Bruce Litton's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.015), 330 ft(-0.032), 660ft(-0.038), 1,000ft(-0.018). MOV: 0.0072 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Litton and Lagan will square off in the final, Cox and Massey in the consolation round. Sunday Finals: (W) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster) (L) Bobby Lagana Jr. (POW-MIA Dragster) 3:42 p.m. Litton was trying to go four-for-four this weekend, Lagan was trying to even the score after a tough outing yesterday. Both had problems, but Lagana's came first, losing traction around half track. Then Litton lost the blower belt, around the 1,000-foot marker. But by then he was well ahead and had more momentum than Lagana.
