FRIDAY, January 29th, 2010

Friday Semi-Finals:

(W) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster)
0.122 / 4.615 / 321.73

(L) Del Cox Jr. (RG Industries Dragster)
0.103 / 15.743 / 43.00

This pairing matched the top two in points from the 2009 season, but the race was over almost immediately, Cox up in smoke. Litton had no problems we could see from here and will have lane choice against lagana in the finals. Cox and teammate Massey won't go home quite yet, they will race each other in round two, again with a bigger payout to the winner.

Friday Finals:

(W) Bobby Lagana Jr. (POW-MIA Dragster)
0.085 / 4.700 / 305.63

(L) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster)
0.123 / 12.244 / 84.60

10:59 p.m. This is it for today, the Top Fuel final. Litton had the better numbers in round one, but Lagana pulled off the upset when Litton overpowered the track about 60 feet out. Lagana made a solid pass, improving slightly over his first run. Many in the crowd signed Lagana's car during the FanFest before tonight's Nitro Jam action and they got to ride along in victory.

SATURDAY, January 30th, 2010

Saturday Semi-Finals:

(W) Del Cox Jr. (RG Industries Dragster)
0.152 / 12.708 / 70.87

(L) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster)
-9.999(R) NT-Broke Before Staging

7:00 p.m. Once again we are playing to a packed house, the grandstands full, as they were last night.

This one did not go well for Litton, the car abruptly stopping as he started to back up from the burnout. He was not far down the track, around the 60-foot marker, so once the track was clear, Cox made his run, then Litton's disabled car was pushed off the track.

Cox launched, shook, pedaled, then coasted down the track.

Saturday Consolation Round:

(W) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster)
0.140 / 6.623 / 132.22

(L) Spencer Massey (Bexar Waste Dragster)
0.079 / 8.776 / 95.10

10:03 p.m. This is the Consolation Round. Litton's front suspension broke on the burnout in the first round, the lower A-arms letting go and the wheels splayed out. Massey had traction problems in round one.

Both drivers had traction problems this round, but Littoin was able to regain some traction to win by a couple seconds, coasting across the line.
