Saturday Qualifying #1:

Left Lane: Luigi Novelli - No Time
Right Lane: Bruce Litton - 6.549 / 130.87

Novelli's car had some problems on the burnout and they shut it off, then pushed it back to the starting line so Litton could make a pass. Litton made a good run to 300 feet, then started smoking the tires and lifted.

Qualified #16

Saturday Qualifying #2:

Left Lane: Bruce Litton - 4.755 / 309.84
Right Lane: Luigi Novelli - 5.825 / 177.58

Hillary Will was on the bump spot at 5.989 after Millican's run. Litton made a clean run to get in, though that time may not hold up, while Novelli was up in smoke before the 330-foot marker. There was almost an incident as Litton turned off at the first turnoff, the wind blowing his chute into the left lane, where Novelli ran over it.

Qualified #16

Sunday Eliminations #1:

(W) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster) 0.059 / 4.655 / 323.97

(L) Alan Bradshaw (Vis Viva Living Force Dragster) 0.056 / 8.386 / 102.79

Bradshaw is the third different #1 qualifier in Top Fuel this year. This is the first time Litton and Bradshaw have faced each other in eliminations. The jinx strikes again as Bradshaw strikes the tires and Litton goes right down the groove. Litton ran a tenth quicker than he qualified, but loses lane choice to Dixon in round two.

Sunday Eliminations #2:

(W) Larry Dixon (U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Dragster) 0.050 / 5.112 / 268.49

(L) Bruce Litton (Lucas Oil Dragster) 0.053 / 10.587 / 86.14

Again, both lost traction, but Litton smoked the tires early and was coasting by the time Dixon puffedthe tires at half track. Dixon did a slap on the "loud pedal" and regained traction. He races Schumacher in the semifinals, Schumacher has lane choice.
